The Great FO Weekend

I had a lovely weekend at my parents home. My Mom does catering, so I helped her with a wedding reception. Bonus - we got to take home the extra food (shrimp & eggrolls - yum!) and some beautiful flowers. In the downtime, I got a lot of knitting done.

I finally finished my sister's poncho! All it lacked was fringe. Flipping through Nicky Epstein's Knitting on the Edge (beautiful book!) inspired me to fringe. I never thought much of ponchos before, but I like the way this one looks. It's the basic two rectangles made with Brown Sheep's Co's Cotton Fleece, on a Bond knitting machine, and then I sewed it together and let it sit for a months. Now it's fringed and ready to wear, just in time for summer - lol.

I finally finished Tempting! I absolutely love the way this sweater looks and fits, not to mention how easy it was to knit. Upon close inspection, there's lots of loose stitches, but it was good practice. Thanks Vy for suggesting this project! I made a lot of modifications on this one, starting with the yarn (cheap), and didn't follow any of the length schematics. I'll definitely make this sweater again in better yarn, while making some changes to the design. I've posted those suggestions to the Tempting Knit-Along blog.
