FO Report & A Knitless Weekend

click to enlargeI have two unreported FO's from a few weeks ago. One was DD's last year's huge Valentine's sweater that I finally sewed together for this V-Day, and fits perfectly now. This was my first machine-made sweater, with humble Red Heart Eco, and it has survived two rugged machine washes to cleanse the aftermath of art class and playground romps, and still looks new.

Loosely following Ann Budd's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns, I modified it with short sleeves, a shorter torso, and a wider neckline. This has also survived two machine washes. It turned out so well, I'm going to make a twinkie one for me, but with some nice HWG yarn.

Saturday, as promised, I took DD to see Aquamarine, then drove an hour to cook dinner for my Dad's birthday. My Dad sadly handed me a fingering weight military wool sweater with a huge snag, so I broke out a tiny steel crochet hook and after 15 minutes his sweater was new again. Then I put DD to bed and we watched The Constant Gardener.

After returning Sunday to more moving to do (yes, I've moved, but far from settled), I skipped Stitch-n-Bitch. DD & I played badmitton in the sunset, then after dinner & bedtime, I had some seriously talking with my future DH about our past problems and future expectations of marriage.

So with all that, my entired weekend included no knitting. I did manage to fondle a few projects objectively, but was just too tired to knit. So instead I just read about it - Vogue Knitting's design chapters, S-n-B Nation's redesign chapters, Twisted Sisters's sock patterns, and the Spring IK.
