A few folks have asked me how to make a twisted hank. I've done this over a thousand times, so I take it for granted. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I made a little slideshow to demonstrate. Basically, you twist the hank around itself until tight, fold it in half, and then encourage it to curl around itself, then tuck one end into the other. And don't forget a label too - especially helpful if you keep yarn for many years before knitting it. I jot down the fiber contents, yardage, gauge, needle size, and care instructions.
