Top Down Mittens

I almost thought I was onto something genius until today, when I googled "top down mitten pattern" and found several that preceded me by decades, most notably, Ms. EZ herself. This mitten pattern, however, was created by working backwards a standard ambidextrous gusset thumb cuff-up pattern from Ann Budd's Handy Book of Patterns, with a few tweaks.

After this photo shoot, I finished the cuff and picked up the thumb stitches. When I'm done, a pattern will soon follow....
