Swatching exactly 10 yards yielded a perfect 4x4 inch square. Weird! With 5mm metal needles, I got 4 sts x 5 rows per inch, post-wash. It shrank row-wise, from 4" to 3.5" but no change stitch-wise. With mild handsoap and cold water, the dye turned the water muddy brown in under 3 minutes, but after drying, the colors still look vibrant, and the fabric transformed from scratchy burlap to silky fuzz.
