My DD was brimming with excitement. For the first time, she could wear her new long-awaited handknit socks to bed. I tucked her in, kissed her goodnight, only to see her running out of her room a few minutes later and complain, "Mom, they itch!"I pulled out a pair of cotton knee socks and suggested she wear those underneath. She thought I was so smart, and delightfully followed my suggestion, and then I tucked her back into bed.
She was out again a few minutes later, "Mom, they still itch through the other socks!"
Oh well. I suppose I could try a heavy dose of fabric softener. Maybe I can line the socks with vinyl, lol. If that doesn't work, I'll just frog the cuff, and maybe they'll stretch enough to be mine.
