Happy H'ker's One Skein Scarf

my one skein scarf - click to enlargeI believe for the first time ever, I made a project from a published pattern that I didn't change in some way, other than the color choice. I followed the instructions exactly, used the exact same yarn, the same hook, and got the same gauge. Of course, I HAD to add some sort of original signature, hence the violet hand-dyed yarn.

Here I'm wearing it wrapped around my neck twice. Wrapped once, it hits just above the knee. With all the yarn left over, I was thinking either I can make it 20 inches longer for a cool calf-length scarf, or make it 20 inches shorter, and crochet a matching hat from the leftovers.

Debbie Stoller's Happy Hooker One Skein Scarf proved to be a quick and fun crochet project, that I finished last night through episodes of CSI and Alias. I wore it today, and my fiance immediately complimented, "That's a great color!"

  1. Great Color! Love the scarf. I have thought about trying out that pattern for some time but not sure if it would look good or not. I think your color choice sealed the deal for me. I gotta make one.
