It's my birthday so I'll knit if I want to

Mei's 34thYes, it happened today - I'm officially in my mid-thirties now. I love when my birthday falls on a Saturday, and I had the day off from the yarnshop, so I did a little solo shopping in the AM, then my honey took me to lunch at our fave Mexican place where the wait staff sang to me. Then I took a power 2-hour nap, played with yarn a bit, then freshened up to go dine at Boscos with my honey, mom, dad, sis, bro-in-law, and DD. Everything was great, but what really made my day was when I asked for a beer, and then the waiter CARDED ME! I about flew out of my seat to plant a big kiss on him. Afterwards, we went over to admire my new house for a bit, then everyone went their separate ways, so my DF and I went to Books-a-Million to spend the gift card from my sister and drink frappacinos.

My Family

Birthday BooksYou know your man loves you when this is your birthday present - knitting books you actually like, and don't already have. I asked him why he chose these, and he answered, "They have a lot of technical information and nice patterns." I did jump up and plant a big kiss on him of course. He also gave me 4 space bags to compact my growing stash, but never once does he complain. It's probably because his tool collection is much larger and more expensive. It's nice to both benefit from each other's hobbies - he works on my car, builds me wooden things, and I make him knitted stuff to keep him warm.
